Marvel Rivals Addresses Low FPS Damage Issue Affecting Several Heroes

Players of Marvel Rivals experiencing reduced damage output at lower FPS settings, particularly with heroes like Dr. Strange and Wolverine, can expect a resolution. The developers have acknowledged a bug impacting damage calculations at 30 FPS, affecting several heroes' abilities.

This issue, impacting the effectiveness of attacks for characters such as Dr. Strange, Magik, Star-Lord, Venom, and Wolverine, has been confirmed by the development team. The problem appears linked to the game's client-side prediction mechanism, a common technique to minimize perceived lag. While the exact extent of affected heroes and abilities remains unclear, Wolverine's Feral Leap and Savage Claw are explicitly mentioned as exhibiting noticeable damage reduction at lower frame rates, especially against stationary targets.

Though a precise fix date isn't available, the developers are actively working on a solution. A community manager has stated that the upcoming Season 1 launch on January 11th will address the issue, aiming to improve the overall gameplay experience. If the Season 1 update doesn't completely resolve the problem, a subsequent patch will be released.

Despite early concerns regarding hero balance, Marvel Rivals, launched in early December 2025, boasts an impressive 80% player approval rating on Steam, based on over 132,000 reviews, showcasing its overall positive reception. The ongoing efforts to address this FPS-related bug further demonstrate the developers' commitment to providing a fair and enjoyable gaming experience for all players.
