It's no secret that Monster Hunter: World's weapon designs weren't universally loved. Many fans questioned whether Monster Hunter Wilds would suffer from the same issue. While early glimpses of Wilds' weapons offered limited insight, Director Yuya Tokuda has now clarified the design philosophy.
Regarding the Hope series armor and weapons, Tokuda explained: "Incidentally, weapon designs in Monster Hunter: World generally retained a certain form, but they featured a customized appearance based on which monster materials were used. However, in Wilds, each weapon has its own unique design."
This directly addresses concerns about weapon similarity. Unlike *Monster Hunter: World*, where some weapon lines remained visually similar even at their highest upgrade levels (as seen below comparing the Aqua and Pukei-Pukei Sword & Shield, and the Bone and Jyuratodus Long Swords), *Monster Hunter Wilds* boasts entirely unique weapon designs.Monster Hunter Wilds Weapons
