Remedy Entertainment's annual report brings exciting news for fans, as Control 2 has successfully navigated through the concept validation stage and is now in full production. This milestone is a clear indicator of the project's promising future, marking a significant step forward in its development journey.
In addition to Control 2, two other highly anticipated projects are making notable progress: FBC: Firebreak and the remakes of Max Payne 1+2. A year ago, these titles were merely in the preparation phase, but they have now advanced into the next stage of development. However, it's worth noting that the project Kestrel, which was initially developed in partnership with Tencent, has been officially canceled and removed from Remedy's development slate since May of last year.
All these exciting projects are being crafted using Remedy's proprietary Northlight engine, which has already demonstrated its prowess in delivering high-quality experiences in games like Alan Wake 2 and other Remedy titles.
Regarding the budget, Control 2 is set with a substantial budget of 50 million euros. The game is slated for self-publishing by Remedy and will be available on Xbox Series, PS5, and PC. On the other hand, FBC: Firebreak has a slightly more modest budget of 30 million euros. This title will be accessible on PlayStation and Xbox subscription services at launch, as well as on Steam and the Epic Games Store.
The budget details for the remakes of Max Payne 1+2 remain undisclosed, but it is confirmed that they will be developed to AAA standards. Both the development and marketing of these remakes are fully financed by Rockstar Games, ensuring a high-quality revival of these beloved classics.
