Google Play Store to Auto-Launch Apps Soon

Have you ever downloaded a new app and then completely forgotten to open it? I certainly haven't, but Google Play Store seems to have the perfect solution for those who do. They're reportedly working on a feature that could save you the hassle of manually launching newly installed apps.

What’s The Scoop?

According to a report by Android Authority, Google Play Store is developing a new feature that might just save you a few taps. This upcoming feature would automatically open apps as soon as they're downloaded. No more searching for the app icon or wondering if the download completed. As soon as the app is ready, it'll pop up on your screen.

However, this feature isn't finalized yet. It's based on an APK teardown of Play Store version 41.4.19, meaning it hasn't been officially announced and there's no set release date. If it comes to fruition, it will be called App Auto Open. The great news is that it would be optional, allowing you to toggle it on or off depending on whether you want your newly installed apps to auto-launch.

So, how will it work? Once an app finishes downloading, you'll receive a notification banner at the top of your screen for about 5 seconds. It might even ring or vibrate, depending on your phone settings. This ensures you won't miss the notification, even if you're caught up in an Instagram reel or a raid in your favorite mobile game.

Keep in mind, this information is still unofficial, so we don't have an exact release date yet. But rest assured, we'll keep you updated as soon as we hear more from Google.
