In a world brimming with video games, finding a truly unique title can be a challenge. My Father Lied, however, stands out with its captivating narrative and intriguing blend of mystery and Lovecraftian elements. This puzzle adventure game boasts a compelling story, making it a standout experience.
My Father Lied: An Indie Developer's Vision
The game's creation story is as fascinating as the game itself. Ahmed Alameen, the developer, initially pursued a career in writing and filmmaking. A collaborative game project with a college friend fell through, but the core story idea remained. Driven by his vision, Alameen independently learned 3D modeling and Unreal Engine, bringing his concept to fruition. Even the game's title was a collaborative effort with his wife.
Unraveling the Mystery
My Father Lied plunges players into a captivating mystery steeped in ancient Mesopotamian myths. Players assume the role of Huda, a young woman grappling with a twenty-year-old question: What happened to her father? The answer, as the story unfolds, proves far more complex than anticipated.
The game masterfully blends ancient Mesopotamian culture with modern storytelling. The gameplay features simple point-and-click mechanics, beautiful 2D visuals, and immersive 360-degree images, ensuring accessibility and visual appeal.
