This collection includes Marvel vs Capcom 2, widely regarded as one of the greatest fighting games of all time. During the event, IGN had the opportunity to interview Capcom producer Shuhei Matsumoto, who shared insights into the company's commitment to the Versus series and the extensive journey to bring this collection to life.
Matsumoto revealed that the collection has been in development for about three to four years, highlighting the dedication and effort required to make this project a reality. The journey began with extensive discussions with Marvel, which initially delayed the release. However, the collaboration has been very positive, with both companies motivated to bring these classic games to modern audiences. "We've been planning for about three, four years to make this project a reality," Matsumoto said.
