Elven Curse

A simple non-field RPG where you escape a cursed forest. This game focuses on a hunter's journey to escape a mysterious and dangerous woodland.

Prologue: You're the village's best hunter, drawn to a national hunting tournament near the royal capital. Upon arriving and setting up camp, you discover the tournament site deserted, with only remnants of other hunters' camps remaining. The national guard, responsible for the tournament, has vanished. Your attempts to retrace your steps lead you back to the same spot, revealing the unsettling nature of the forest. Your journey to escape begins.

The Elven Curse: Aided by a quarter-elf named Foria, you must navigate the cursed forest using a streamlined, intuitive interface. The game utilizes a minimal button-based control scheme, focusing on simple gameplay.

Character Creation: While character customization is limited, you can reroll your stats freely before starting. Stat increases upon leveling up are only visible on the character creation screen. This information is not available in-game. Losing all life force results in game over. You will need at least two "talismans" to continue playing.

Foria, the Peddler Quarter-Elf: A mysterious boy (or perhaps something more) who aids you in your escape, offering guidance and support using the forest's ancient spirits.

Game World and Atmosphere: The prologue unfolds like a visual novel, while Foria's dialogue maintains a lighthearted tone. The game's world is presented through understated, evocative language.

Exploration: Progress involves exploring unexplored areas within each section of the forest. The success of each exploration attempt is influenced by "fog depth," which is tied to your character's stats. When your life force is depleted, use poison or rare "talismans" to restore it, or return to Foria for assistance.

Encounters and Combat: The forest is inhabited by various creatures, from wolves and wild dogs to surprisingly aggressive frogs and rabbits. Defeating them yields materials for trading with Foria. Unlike traditional RPGs, combat is optional and doesn't involve leveling up. The goal is simply escape. There are no fixed boss battles. As a hunter, you use a bow and arrow. Maintaining distance allows for safe attacks, while closing the distance risks a one-sided attack. You can choose to withdraw or use a "flash" ball provided by Foria to escape.

Cloak System: You craft cloaks from gathered materials (branches, resin, leather), layering them up to three times to enhance your abilities. Cloaks can also restore vitality but may tear and become unusable over time. This is the only equipment customization option.

Game Features: The game emphasizes strategic thinking, skill, and a degree of luck. It involves collecting materials and utilizing crafting and alchemy systems. It is a game where preparation and resource management are key. The game includes an autosave system, but save points are not guaranteed during all game events. It is recommended to close the app through the base menu to ensure a save.

Version 1.2 Update (Dec 18, 2024): Bug fixes, including resolving an issue causing unintended transitions to the character creation mode. Previous versions addressed typographical errors and minor bugs.
