Call of Duty: Black Ops 6's January 9th Update Addresses Player Feedback and Implements Numerous Fixes
Treyarch has released a new update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, directly addressing player concerns regarding recent changes to the Zombies Directed Mode. Key changes include the reversal of a controversial spawn delay adjustment and significant buffs to the Shadow Rift Ammo Mod. Further bug fixes and adjustments are slated for the Season 2 update on January 28th.
The January 3rd update introduced alterations to Directed Mode in the Citadelle des Morts map, notably extending the time between rounds and increasing the delay between zombie spawns after five looped rounds. This alteration proved unpopular, hindering kill farming and camo challenge completion. Player feedback prompted Treyarch to reassess, leading to the reversal of this change in the latest patch. The zombie spawn delay is now restored to approximately 20 seconds at most after five looped rounds. Additional fixes target glitches and bugs impacting quest progression in Directed Mode on Citadelle des Morts, including issues with stamps, visual effects, and crashes related to the Void Sheath Augment for Aether Shroud.
The Shadow Rift Ammo Mod receives a substantial boost with four new buffs:
- Normal enemy activation rate increased to 20% (from 15%).
- Special enemy activation rate increased to 7% (from 5%).
- Elite enemy activation rate (with Big Game Augment) increased to 7% (from 5%).
- Cooldown timer decreased by 25%.
These enhancements aim to restore Shadow Rift's effectiveness and enjoyment.
The January 9th patch notes also detail various other improvements across the game:
Global Changes:
- Resolved a visibility issue with Maya's "Joyride" Operator Skin.
- Addressed visual problems in the Events tab.
- Fixed an audio issue affecting in-game Event milestone banners.
Multiplayer Changes:
- Increased XP rewards in Red Light, Green Light mode.
- Implemented several stability fixes.
Zombies Changes (Beyond those already mentioned):
- The Dead Light, Green Light LTM now includes Liberty Falls and a 20-round cap.
Treyarch acknowledges that some fixes require more extensive testing and will be included in the Season 2 update on January 28th. Players still have time to complete the Citadelle des Morts main quest before Season 1 Reloaded concludes. The full patch notes are available [link to patch notes if applicable].
