As September 6th arrives, Sony experiences a bittersweet moment. While the firm contends with the recent and indefinite closure of Concord, its highly anticipated 3D platformer, Astro Bot, launches to rave reviews.

Astro Bot’s critical acclaim contrasts sharply with Concord’s reception. At the time of writing, the game boasts a superb 94 score on Metacritic, making it one of the top-rated standalone games of 2024 thus far. Only the Elden Ring expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, surpasses it with a 95.
