Hazelight Studios' Josef Fares recently revealed key details about their upcoming title, Split Fiction, in an interview. Reiterating previous statements, Fares stressed Hazelight's dedication to avoiding live-service elements and microtransactions. The studio has no plans for an IPO or acquisition:
"We're not going public. No microtransactions. We focus solely on delivering great gaming experiences."
In a conversation with MinnMax, Fares stated that Split Fiction's main story arc clocks in at approximately 12-14 hours, mirroring the playtime of It Takes Two. With optional content and side missions, the total playtime could reach 16-17 hours.
While Hazelight is known for its cooperative games, Fares hinted at the potential for future single-player projects. He mentioned that Split Fiction's budget is double that of It Takes Two, yet the studio is forgoing post-launch DLC, ensuring a complete experience from launch. Split Fiction will be released worldwide on March 6th for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
