Mastering the Haunted Mirror in Phasmophobia: A Guide to Ghostly Insights
In Phasmophobia, strategically utilizing Cursed Possessions can significantly aid in ghost hunting, but they come with inherent risks. The Haunted Mirror stands out as a relatively safe option, offering substantial rewards that outweigh the potential dangers. This guide explains its use.
The Haunted Mirror's function remains consistent across game updates: it reveals the ghost's preferred room. This panoramic view dramatically accelerates the investigation, allowing for efficient equipment placement before the situation escalates.
Its location is predetermined for each map; however, its appearance is randomized. You'll typically find it hanging on a wall or resting on the floor.
To activate the mirror, pick it up and use the designated interaction button (mouse or controller). The reflection will display the ghost's current haunt. Note that on Professional difficulty and above, the ghost's location may shift after a time.
Caution: prolonged gazing into the mirror depletes sanity. Holding it for the entire duration will shatter it, triggering a Cursed Hunt at your precise location. Use it judiciously when sanity levels are high and you understand the reflected image.
Understanding Cursed Objects (Possessions) in Phasmophobia
Cursed Possessions, or "Cursed Objects," are unique, randomly spawning items. Their appearance depends on the difficulty and whether Challenge Mode is active.
Unlike standard equipment, which offers low-risk ghost detection and evidence gathering, Cursed Objects provide shortcuts at a higher risk to your character's well-being. Their risk levels vary; using them is entirely optional. Only one Cursed Possession appears per contract (unless modified in Custom settings).
Seven Cursed Objects exist:
- Summoning Circle
- Haunted Mirror
- Voodoo Doll
- Music Box
- Tarot Cards
- Ouija Board
- Monkey Paw
