Fields of Mistria: Can You Actually Date the Romance Options?
While Fields of Mistria is lauded for its well-developed romance options and engaging storylines, the simple answer is: not yet, at least not in the traditional sense. However, the existing romance system, even after significant playtime, remains incredibly rewarding, easily justifying the game's price point.
November 2024's major update increased the maximum relationship level from four hearts to six, introducing new events for each romanceable NPC to celebrate relationship milestones. Cutscenes unlock at two, four, and six hearts, with plans for eight and ten-heart events in future updates. However, the March 2025 update won't include further heart level increases or new events.

Despite the pause in expanding the core dating mechanic, the current romance system shines. The dialogue is rich, realistic, and delightfully flirty, creating a strong foundation for romantic interpretation, even without explicit dating sequences. The progression feels satisfyingly paced, building intimacy gradually.
The Shooting Star Festival, introduced in the same update, offers a unique opportunity for a date-like experience with eligible NPCs (requiring four hearts). While you can share a stargazing evening with Caldarus, a full date at the Summit location, as seen with other characters, isn't yet available. This may change with the March 2025 update, which focuses on unlocking the dragon's romance storyline.
In short, while official "dates" aren't currently a feature, Fields of Mistria provides a compelling romantic experience. The existing content is substantial and promises further development.
