Treyarch is developing a much-requested feature for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: in-game challenge tracking. This functionality, present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6 at launch, leaving many players frustrated.
While a release date remains unannounced, the feature's development was confirmed via a recent Twitter response from Treyarch. With Season 2 launching later this month, players may not have long to wait.
A recent January 9th update addressed various bug fixes for Black Ops 6's multiplayer and zombies modes, including UI and audio improvements, and XP adjustments for the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significantly, Treyarch also reversed a controversial change to the Zombies mode's round timing and zombie spawning in Directed Mode, following community feedback.
The addition of challenge tracking is highly anticipated, especially by players pursuing Mastery camos. The functionality is expected to mirror Modern Warfare 3's implementation, providing a real-time in-game tracker for selected challenges. This will eliminate the need to check progress only at the end of matches.
Further, Treyarch confirmed the development of separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes, addressing another player concern. This will allow for customized HUD configurations without needing to switch settings between game modes.
