Captain America: Brave New World has soared past initial projections, securing an impressive $100 million in domestic box office earnings over the Presidents Day holiday weekend. According to Comscore, the latest installment from Marvel Studios grossed an estimated $88.5 million across 4,105 theaters over the three-day period, with projections reaching $100 million over four days. Internationally, the film added another $92.4 million, bringing its global weekend total to an estimated $192.4 million.

With a production budget of $180 million, Captain America: Brave New World needs to reach a global box office of approximately $425 million to break even. The film's opening performance marks the fourth-best Presidents Day launch on record, trailing behind other superhero blockbusters such as Black Panther ($242 million), Deadpool ($152 million), and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ($120 million).

Despite its strong box office debut, Captain America: Brave New World has received mixed reviews. IGN's review scored the film a 5/10, stating, "Captain America: Brave New World feels neither brave, nor all that new, falling short of strong performances from Anthony Mackie, Harrison Ford, and Carl Lumbly."

The film's performance is crucial as it aims to reverse a downward trend for Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, with the exception of last year's successful Deadpool & Wolverine. All eyes are now on Captain America: Brave New World to see if it can maintain momentum leading into upcoming MCU releases like Thunderbolts* in May and The Fantastic Four: First Steps in July.
