Jack Quaid, known for his role in *The Boys*, has expressed a keen interest in starring in a potential *BioShock* movie, citing the game as one of his all-time favorites. During a Reddit AMA to promote his new film, *Novocaine*, Quaid highlighted *BioShock*'s deep and rich lore as a perfect fit for a TV or movie adaptation. "I would actually love to be in a live action adaptation of *BioShock* - one of my favorite games of all time," he stated. "I think there's such a rich lore to that game that could be explored in a TV or movie adaptation."
The possibility of a *BioShock* movie becoming a reality has been a topic of discussion, especially after producer Roy Lee mentioned last July that the project had undergone significant changes. Following shifts in leadership, the adaptation has been "reconfigured" to become a "more personal" film, influenced by budget cuts from Netflix. Although details about the plot remain undisclosed, *Hunger Games* director Francis Lawrence is still set to direct. Lee noted, "The new regime has lowered the budgets. So we’re doing a much smaller version. It’s going to be a more personal point of view, as opposed to a grander, big project."
Quaid's comments on *BioShock* also touched on his striking resemblance to the video game character Max Payne, whose likeness is based on Remedy writer Sam Lake. Fans have noted similarities between Quaid's appearance in *Novocaine* and Max Payne, leading to speculation about a potential connection. However, Quaid admitted he is less familiar with *Max Payne*, which is currently being remade by Remedy in collaboration with Rockstar. "I've seen people say that I look like Max Payne, and when I've looked at the box art, even I did a double-take," Quaid said. "I love Rockstar's games, but unfortunately I've never played that one - it's next on the list, for sure."
Beyond *BioShock*, Quaid revealed his passion for FromSoftware games, particularly enjoying the challenges presented by titles like *Bloodborne* and *Elden Ring*. In the same Reddit AMA, he shared, "I'm a huge video game nerd. And lately I've been diving headfirst into the FromSoftware library. I beat *Bloodborne*, then I beat *Sekiro*, and now I'm going full boar into *Elden Ring*. Actually, the thing I use Reddit the most for is tips and tricks on beating Fromsoft's bosses. I love how challenging the games are - it took me a while to get into them, but now I'm obsessed."
