Amazon has introduced Alexa+, an enhanced version of its popular voice assistant, now in Early Access. Powered by generative AI, Alexa+ offers a more natural, conversational experience, making interactions feel more personalized and efficient. According to Amazon, "Alexa+ is more conversational, smarter, personalized – and she helps you get things done." This upgrade aims to streamline your daily tasks, from managing your to-do list and calendar to booking restaurant reservations.
Currently, Alexa+ is available in Early Access exclusively on select Echo Show devices: the Echo Show 8, 10, 15, and 21. If you own or are considering purchasing one of these devices, you can sign up for notifications about when Early Access will be available by visiting the link below. After the Early Access phase, Alexa+ will become a free benefit for Amazon Prime members, or available to non-Prime users for $19.99 per month.

With its conversational approach, Alexa+ allows you to ask questions or request assistance as thoughts arise, enhancing the ease of managing various tasks. Amazon's Alexa+ Early Access page highlights that "new features are being added regularly," suggesting that more capabilities will be unveiled post-Early Access.
However, not all devices are compatible with Alexa+. Older generation Echo devices, including the Echo Dot 1st Gen, Echo 1st Gen, Echo Plus 1st Gen, Amazon Tap, Echo Show 1st Gen, Echo Show 2nd Gen, and Echo Spot 1st Gen, will continue to use the original Alexa. Amazon plans to expand Alexa+ to additional devices such as Fire TV, Fire tablets, and Alexa.com in the near future.
