The Witcher's Next Animated Adventure
A Coastal Conflict on the Continent
Netflix Tudum, the official Netflix news source, confirms the release of The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep on February 11, 2025. This animated feature is adapted from Andrzej Sapkowski's short story, "A Little Sacrifice," from Sword of Destiny.
The story unfolds in a coastal village where a centuries-old conflict between humans and merfolk forces a Continent kingdom to enlist a Witcher's aid. Instead of the usual monsters, Geralt faces a unique challenge – battling merpeople.
Returning to voice Geralt is Doug Cockle. Joey Batey and Anya Chalotra reprise their roles as Jaskier and Yennefer, respectively. Christina Wren (Will Trent) joins the cast as the new character, Essi Daven.
Sapkowski acts as creative consultant, with the screenplay penned by Mike Ostrowski and Rae Benjamin, writers from the live-action series. Kang Hei Chul, storyboard artist for The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, directs the film.
A Season 1 Interlude
The film's timeline slots neatly between episodes 5 and 6 of The Witcher's first season. Following Geralt and Yennefer's reunion in Rinde after the Djinn incident (Episode 5, "Bottled Appetites"), Geralt is hired to resolve a coastal monster problem.
The film's setting, given its proximity to Rinde, likely places it within Redania or Temeria. However, based on "A Little Sacrifice," the location might be Bremervoord City in Temeria, ruled by Duke Agloval. The extent to which the film adheres to the source material remains to be seen.
