The Magical Magus utilizes powerful skills, primarily fire-based attacks. Equipping fire-resistant accessories (found in golden chests within Yukiko's Castle) is highly recommended. These accessories also prove beneficial during the final boss battle.
When the Magical Magus begins charging, prepare to guard on your next turn. It frequently employs Agilao, a potent tier-two spell capable of significantly damaging, or even eliminating, unprepared party members. While Hysterical Slap inflicts substantial physical damage (a double hit), Agilao poses the greater threat. Strategically, it's advisable for Chie and Yosuke to focus on guarding, minimizing their risk of being incapacitated, while the protagonist, who is uniquely capable of utilizing light skills at this early stage, takes the offensive.
Early-Game Persona with a Light Skill in Persona 4 Golden
Archangel is the ideal early-game Persona possessing a light skill; it naturally learns Hama. Archangel also acquires Media at level 12, a valuable skill for the final boss encounter. This level 11 Persona can be readily fused using:
- Slime (Level 2)
- Forneus (Level 6)
In Persona 4 Golden, light and dark skills are exclusively instant-kill moves. Hama, therefore, offers a high probability of instant elimination against enemies vulnerable to light. Its effectiveness makes even the dungeon's most challenging enemy relatively easy to defeat. Given Archangel's high level, farming the Magical Magus can be advantageous, provided you have sufficient SP-restoring items, or are willing to enter the boss fight with reduced SP.
