NieR: Automata - Where To Farm Machine Arms

This guide details how to acquire Machine Arms in NieR: Automata, a rare crafting material useful for weapon and pod upgrades. Early acquisition can significantly boost your character's strength.

Quick Links

Obtaining Machine Arms early in the game presents a challenge due to their low drop rate. The drop chance increases with enemy level, making early farming crucial.

Farming Machine Arms

Machine Arms have a small chance of dropping from defeated small machines. To maximize your chances early on, focus on quickly eliminating as many small machines as possible.

After completing Chapter 4, a highly effective farming location becomes available. Use fast travel to reach the Desert: Housing Complex access point. Proceed deeper into the ruins to find the pit where you first fought Adam. This area continuously respawns small machines, providing a consistent source, though the drop rate remains low. This method also yields Titanium Alloy.

While a Drop Rate Plug-In Chip can slightly improve your yield, it won't dramatically increase the drop rate.
