Bandai Namco has announced the closure of its fortress strategy action RPG, Naruto X Boruto Ninja Voltage. This isn't unexpected for many players, mirroring the fate of other Naruto gacha games like Naruto Blazing.
The game's final day is December 9th, 2024, concluding a nearly seven-year run. Players can still enjoy several upcoming events before the shutdown, including the Village Leader World Championship (October 8th-18th), an All-Out Mission (October 18th-November 1st), and a final "Thanks For Everything" campaign (November 1st-December 1st). Players can continue collecting cards, participating in summons, and utilizing in-game items until the service ends. Any remaining Gold Coins should be spent before the shutdown.
The game's decline stemmed from a shift in gameplay mechanics. While initially featuring a balanced system allowing village building and defense, the introduction of Minato seemingly initiated a power creep, alienating players. This was compounded by increasingly overt pay-to-win elements, reduced free-to-play rewards, and the near-disappearance of multiplayer features. These factors contributed to the game's eventual closure, though it remains available on the Google Play Store for now.
