The gaming community is buzzing with excitement as recent updates hint at a potential re-reveal and release of Hollow Knight: Silksong. On March 24, significant changes were observed in the game's Steam listing, as documented on SteamDB. These updates include an opt-in for Hollow Knight: Silksong on GeForce Now, along with changes to assets and the copyright date, which now reads Team Cherry 2025 instead of 2019. These alterations suggest that a major announcement could be on the horizon, possibly even a 2025 release.

The anticipation has been further fueled by the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, scheduled for April 2. Fans are hopeful that this event might bring news about Hollow Knight: Silksong, especially given the game's confirmed launch platforms—Windows, Mac, Linux, and Nintendo Switch—announced at its initial reveal six years ago. The excitement was palpable in January, when a developer's cryptic X/Twitter post sparked rampant speculation about a re-reveal during the Switch 2 direct, and potentially a timed launch exclusive on Nintendo's next-gen console.

Hollow Knight: Silksong has also been a hot topic since Microsoft included it in its Xbox-Bethesda Showcase in June 2022, promising that everything shown would be playable within the next 12 months. However, in May 2023, Team Cherry announced a delay past the first half of 2023, with Matthew Griffin, the marketing and publishing lead, stating, "We had planned to release in the first half of 2023, but development is still continuing. We're excited by how the game is shaping up, and it's gotten quite big, so we want to take the time to make the game as good as we can."

As the sequel to the critically acclaimed Hollow Knight from 2017, Silksong carries immense expectations. It remains one of the most wishlisted games on Steam, with IGN's review of the original praising its "compelling and rich world of Hallownest, full of story that’s left for you to discover on your own, and built with branching paths that offer an absurd amount of choice in how you go about discovering it."

With Microsoft's deal to bring Silksong to Game Pass on day one, the game is also one of the most anticipated additions to the subscription service. As fans eagerly await further updates, the gaming world remains on the edge of its seat, hoping for a soon-to-be-announced release date for Hollow Knight: Silksong.
