Square Enix's Foamstars Goes Free-to-Play This Fall
Square Enix has revealed that its competitive 4v4 shooter, Foamstars, will transition to a free-to-play model this October. This announcement, made via an official update, marks a significant shift for the title, less than a year after its initial launch.
No More PlayStation Plus Required
The change to free-to-play also eliminates the need for a PlayStation Plus subscription to access Foamstars. Currently priced at $29.99 for PS4 and PS5, the game will become free to download and play starting October 4th, 2024, at 1:00 a.m. UTC.
Exclusive Legacy Gift for Existing Players
Players who purchased Foamstars before the switch will receive a special "Legacy Gift" as a thank you. This exclusive in-game bundle includes twelve color-variant Bubble Beastie skins, a unique slide board design, and the "Legacy" title. Further details on claiming this gift will be announced shortly on Square Enix's website and X (formerly Twitter) account.
