Beginner's Guide to Mastering Rune Slayer

Authore: HazelUpdate:Apr 03,2025

After two failed launches and months of anticipation, *Rune Slayer* has finally arrived, and it's nothing short of glorious. Whether you're new to MMORPGs or a seasoned veteran, diving into *Rune Slayer* can be overwhelming. But fear not! We've put together a comprehensive guide to help you embark on your *Rune Slayer* adventure with confidence.

Rune Slayer Beginner Tips

Here are some crucial tips that we wish we knew from the start to make your journey in *Rune Slayer* smoother and more enjoyable.

Do not randomly attack other players

When we first heard about *Rune Slayer*'s full-loot PvP system, we were concerned it would turn into a chaotic bloodbath. Fortunately, that's not quite the case. **When you die in *Rune Slayer*, you don’t lose anything**, even if you're killed by another player. You simply respawn and continue your journey.

However, **attacking other players comes with a bounty**. The more players you kill, the higher your bounty, and the more items you'll drop upon death. Essentially, you can turn the game into a full-loot PvP experience by engaging in player kills, but beware of the consequences.

Our advice? **Avoid attacking other players** unless you have a solid reason or a group of friends to back you up. It's better to play it safe and focus on your own progression.

Craft Bags ASAP

You'll quickly realize that both your **bank space and inventory are limited**. With only 50 item slots, your inventory can fill up fast. To address this, **craft bags** as soon as possible. You can equip up to two bags at once, and the first bag you can craft is a **Cotton Bag**.

To craft a Cotton Bag, **gather Cotton from north of Wayshire and Flax from the south**. Be cautious in the south, as it can be dangerous due to mobs. Each Cotton Bag adds an extra 10 slots, so don't delay in crafting them.

Your pets don’t actually die

There's a common misconception that your tamed pets die when their health reaches zero. In reality, **when your pet "dies," it can't be summoned for 5 minutes**. You can check the cooldown by holding T. Once the cooldown is over, hold T again to summon your pet back.

Bonus Tip: To **quickly heal your pet**, store and unstore it at the stable master. You have one free slot, so make use of it.

Grab all the Quests (Yes, all of them)

*Rune Slayer* is packed with quests, many of which are not repeatable and can be easily forgotten. Most quests follow the typical "Kill 10 X" format seen in many MMORPGs. To manage this efficiently, **accept every quest you encounter**, including those from the Job board.

Completing multiple quests simultaneously is far more efficient than tackling them one by one. You might even find yourself completing multiple quests at once without realizing it.

Craft everything at least once (even things you don’t need)

While you should prioritize crafting what you need, **use any spare materials to craft items you don't immediately require**. Crafting new items for the first time often unlocks more advanced crafting options. For example, smelting your first Iron Ore unlocked a range of new Iron Armor crafts for us. So, don't hoard your materials—craft away and discover new possibilities.

Join a Guild

*Rune Slayer* is designed to be solo-friendly, but as you progress, you'll encounter **tougher enemies** that are best tackled in groups. Joining a guild is the easiest way to find like-minded players to take on these challenges.

Use the in-game general chat to express your interest in joining a guild, or visit the official *Rune Slayer* Discord server to find a suitable guild. Having a group of allies can make all the difference in overcoming the game's toughest foes.

And that's all there is to it. Enjoy your time playing *Rune Slayer*, and if you haven't already, be sure to check out the *Rune Slayer* Trello and Discord for more tips and community engagement.
