Astro Bot Rescue Mission offers players a vast array of explorable worlds. However, a hidden tenth world, the Lost Galaxy, remains elusive, accessible only through ten cleverly concealed portals scattered throughout the game's levels. This guide provides detailed instructions on locating each portal.
Look for the telltale swirling icon next to the bot and puzzle piece counts on the level selection screen. Its presence indicates a hidden portal within that stage. These portals are sometimes found early, sometimes late – so keep your eyes peeled!
Portal Locations:
1. Az-Tech Trail:
Mid-level, locate a dark chamber with four lit torches surrounding a wall. Utilize the Twin-Frog Gloves to extinguish all four flames. The wall will then retract, revealing the portal.
2. Creamy Canyon:
Early in the level, you'll encounter a snowy arena with a ladybug enemy. Proceed past it to a charging pig. Grab the pig, swing it, and aim it at the icy statue at the platform's edge. The statue's destruction reveals a path to the portal.
3. Go-Go Archipelago:
After defeating Captain Pincher, locate his embedded claw. A glowing light nearby indicates a spot for a charged spin attack. This action reveals a hidden room containing the portal.
4. Downsize Surprise:
Towards the level's end, find a bubble-blowing frog. Blow into your controller to activate the bubbles. Shrink, ride a bubble, and navigate to a higher branch, eventually reaching the portal.
5. Free Big Brother!:
This is arguably the easiest portal to find. At the level's start, turn around and locate platforms with an electric enemy. Lure it to electrocute the platforms, revealing the portal.
6. Bathhouse Battle:
Locate the house with a flaming chimney. Absorb water, reach the roof, extinguish the flames, and descend the chimney to find the portal.
7. Hieiroglitch Pyramid:
At the level's conclusion, locate an area with falling jewels and a bounce pad. This leads to a hidden area with a trap. Find the hidden switches in the walls to reveal the portal.
8. Balloon Breeze:
This is the most challenging portal. Obtain the pufferfish power-up. Backtrack to an area with a ladybug enemy and a distant platform. Use the pufferfish and Astro's hover to reach the platform, then use motion controls to clear bamboo and activate the portal.
9. Djinny of the Lamp:
After defeating Djinny, climb the ruins. Invisible platforms are indicated by glowing ground. Use Astro's hover to reach the final platform and the portal.
10. Frozen Meal:
Before the final boss, roll a snowball into a large ball and use it as a platform to reach the cliffside and the final portal.
