Ubisoft has confirmed the cancellation of the early access period for Assassin's Creed Shadows, initially planned for those who purchased the Collector's Edition. This decision, announced via a Discord Q&A, follows the game's recent delay to February 14, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The delay, and the cancellation of early access, are reportedly due to challenges ensuring historical accuracy and cultural representation, as well as the need for additional polish.

Furthermore, Ubisoft has lowered the price of the Assassin's Creed Shadows Collector's Edition from $280 to $230. The revised edition still includes the artbook, steelbook, figurine, and other previously announced items. Unconfirmed reports suggest Ubisoft Quebec is exploring the addition of a co-op mode featuring both antagonists, Naoe and Yasuke.

In a surprising move, Ubisoft has disbanded the Ubisoft Montpellier team responsible for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. While the game received positive reviews, French media outlet Origami reports that the decision stems from the title failing to meet sales expectations. Although Ubisoft hasn't released specific sales figures, the company has acknowledged disappointment with the game's performance.

Abdelhak Elguess, senior producer of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, stated that the team is "extremely proud" of their work and that the game's post-launch roadmap, including three free updates and a DLC, is complete. The team's focus now shifts to bringing the game to Mac by this winter and expanding its reach to new platforms. Ubisoft remains committed to the Prince of Persia franchise and has expressed interest in delivering future installments. Most team members have transitioned to other projects within Ubisoft.
