"2025's First Deadlock Update: Surprisingly Small"

Authore: EricUpdate:Apr 03,2025

Valve has returned from their New Year holiday break, and game developers are starting to roll out exciting new patches. Following the announcement that Deadlock would be shifting away from its bi-weekly update schedule, the gaming community was eagerly anticipating a substantial changelog. However, Valve opted for a more relaxed start to the year with a surprisingly small update.

The latest patch focused solely on one hero: Yamato, who received a minor nerf. This included a reduction in damage scaling and a lower attack speed bonus at the first level of Shadow Transformation. Additionally, abilities like Frenzy, Berserker, and Restorative Shot were weakened, while Alchemical Fire underwent a slight rework.

Given the size of this patch, it's likely that we'll need to wait for a more comprehensive update. However, predicting when that might happen is currently a challenging task.

It's important to mention that Deadlock has seen a notable decline in its player base recently. This might be due to the popularity of Marvel Rivals, which has captured the attention of many players. Despite this, for a game in deep beta, maintaining a steady online player count of 7,000 to 19,000 is quite commendable. It's also worth reminding fans that Valve has not yet announced any potential release dates or details about the game's monetization model.
