Squares: Master the Daily Word Strand Puzzle!

Squares is a daily word puzzle game challenging players to complete squares on a grid to form words. The goal? Maximize your score by finding as many words as possible!

How to Play:

Connect letters in any direction – up, down, left, right, or diagonally – to create words. The more letters, the higher your score!

Game Rules:

Scoring: Earn one point for each letter in a word (minimum 4 letters). A five-letter word earns 5 points.
Letter Usage: Each tile can only be used once per word.
Word Restrictions: Hyphenated words, proper nouns, offensive language, and uncommon terms are excluded.

Bonus Words & Challenges:

Bonus Words: Uncommon, archaic, or slang terms are hidden within the grid. These don't add to your score but appear on a separate list. Continue searching for them even after completing the main word list!
Word of the Day: Each puzzle features a special, often lengthy bonus word. Finding it rewards you with two extra hints!

Game Features:

Daily Puzzle: A new Squares puzzle is available daily at midnight.
Grid Rotation: Rotate the grid left or right for a fresh perspective using the buttons in the bottom right corner.
Hints: After finding 40% of the words, a hint system activates, displaying a number on each letter indicating how many words start with that letter (0 means no words begin with that letter). Orange letters are no longer used in main words but might be in bonus words. Each puzzle offers 3-5 hints (lightbulb icon), revealing a random word's first letter and search direction. Sharing the game link grants an extra hint!
