Xbox is bringing its mobile game store to Android devices as early as next month, according to Xbox president Sarah Bond. The new Xbox Android app will allow users to purchase and play games directly from the app. This announcement follows a recent court ruling in Google's antitrust battle with Epic Games, which mandates increased flexibility and a wider range of options on the Google Play Store. This ruling requires Google to grant rival third-party app stores access to its full app catalog for three years, starting November 1st, 2024.
The current Xbox Android app allows users to download games to their Xbox consoles and stream games via Game Pass Ultimate.
