World of Warcraft's Extended Timewalking Extravaganza: Seven Weeks of Turbulent Timeways!
World of Warcraft players are in for a treat! The Turbulent Timeways event is back, and this time it's even bigger. Running for seven consecutive weeks until February 24th, this event offers a non-stop Timewalking campaign marathon. Prepare for a deluge of Timewarped Badges, powerful experience buffs, and exciting new rewards!
This expanded event builds upon the success of the September 2023 iteration, which featured five weeks of Timewalking. The core gameplay remains the same: players conquer Timewalking dungeons to earn the stackable Mastery of Timeways buff, culminating in a significant 20% experience boost after completing four dungeons.
But here's the twist: this time around, the event spans seven weeks, each featuring a different expansion's Timewalking campaign, starting with Mists of Pandaria on January 7th and concluding with Cataclysm the week of February 18th.
Turbulent Timeways Event Schedule:
- January 7-13: Mists of Pandaria
- January 14-20: Warlords of Draenor
- January 21-27: Legion
- January 28-February 3: Classic
- February 4-10: The Burning Crusade
- February 11-17: Wrath of the Lich King
- February 18-24: Cataclysm
Rewards and Achievements:
Achieve Mastery of Timeways in five out of the seven weeks to unlock the "Mastery of the Turbulent Timeways 2" achievement and claim the coveted Timely Buzzbee mount! Timewalking vendors have also received permanent inventory additions, including Season of Discovery transmogs at the Classic vendor, and a chance to acquire the Sandy Shalewing pet (for those who missed it last time). Furthermore, completing the weekly Timewalking dungeon quest during the event yields Heroic-quality gear from the Cache of Nerubian Treasures.
This extended Timewalking period follows the recent 11-week World of Warcraft 20th-anniversary event, resulting in a whopping 18 consecutive weeks of Timewalking!
Looking Ahead:
The Turbulent Timeways event's conclusion on February 24th offers a significant clue regarding future World of Warcraft updates. Considering Blizzard's typical eight-week release cadence and the holiday season, February 25th emerges as the most probable launch date for Patch 11.1, "Undermined," ten weeks after Patch 11.0.7. With the Turbulent Timeways, the second run of Plunderstorm (January 14th - February 17th), and the upcoming major content update for The War Within, World of Warcraft is poised for an action-packed start to 2025.
