Ubisoft Patches AC Origins, Valhalla for Windows 11 Compatibility

Welcome back to our ongoing series, "How is Ubisoft today?" Amidst the ongoing challenges faced by Ubisoft's upper management, there's a glimmer of good news to report. One of the more frustrating issues plaguing the company has been resolved.

Ubisoft has successfully addressed compatibility issues that arose between several Assassin’s Creed games and the Windows 11 24H2 update. Since at least the fall of 2024, titles such as Assassin’s Creed Origins and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, along with other Ubisoft games, were not functioning correctly on the new OS. The solution came through newly released patches, which were announced on the Steam pages for Origins and Valhalla.

The gaming community has responded positively to these updates. Comments under the patch notes show gamers expressing relief and gratitude towards Ubisoft for the long-awaited fix. Interestingly, despite the resolution of this issue, the recent reviews for both games remain "Mixed." This indicates that while the fix is appreciated, there are still other aspects of the games that players feel could be improved.

Looking ahead, there is optimism that the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Shadows will not encounter similar compatibility problems. The release of this highly anticipated game has been postponed to March 20. Ubisoft's decision to delay the launch reflects their commitment to enhancing the game's quality, understanding that its success could significantly impact the company's future.
