Game of Thrones: Kingsroad Mobile RPG Beta Test Announced

Netmarble's upcoming mobile RPG, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad, has unveiled a new gameplay trailer and details about its closed beta test. The action-adventure title, set during the show's fourth season, promises engaging combat and a rich narrative experience.

The closed beta will run from January 16th to 22nd, 2025, in the US, Canada, and select European regions. Registration will be available through the game's official website. This offers fans a sneak peek before the full launch later in 2025.

Featuring class-based progression with fully manual controls, players can choose from various character classes, including knights and assassins. The game boasts an original storyline centered around a new character from House Tyrell in the North, alongside familiar faces like Jon Snow, Jaime Lannister, and even Drogon.

The recently released trailer showcases the game's impressive graphics and combat system, described by Netmarble as "raw, aggressive, and destructive." Drawing on the rich lore and character narratives established by George R.R. Martin and the HBO series, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad aims to deliver a compelling story-driven mobile experience. The game's character designs draw inspiration from Wildlings, Dothraki, and the Faceless Men.

While fans eagerly await the next installment in the A Song of Ice and Fire book series, The Winds of Winter, Game of Thrones: Kingsroad provides a significant addition to the franchise's gaming landscape, offering a substantial experience to tide fans over until the book's release. This is particularly relevant given George R.R. Martin's recent struggles with writer's block.
