Elliot Page's Pageboy Productions to Adapt Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls into a TV Series

Elliot Page, who starred in the original video game, is spearheading the adaptation of Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls into a television series. As reported by Deadline, Page's production company has secured the rights from Quantic Dream, embarking on an ambitious project in its early development stages. The series aims to retain the game's hallmark non-linear narrative structure. Further details regarding casting and release dates remain undisclosed.

Page shared with Deadline that filming the game was a profoundly impactful experience, describing it as "one of the most challenging and fulfilling acting experiences" of his career. He expressed enthusiasm for the adaptation, stating, "The story’s rich narrative and emotional depth offer us a fantastic foundation. We want to create a unique vision of the characters and their journeys that resonates with fans and newcomers.”

Matt Jordan Smitt, head of development and production at Pageboy, emphasized the team's commitment to both honoring the game's legacy and introducing fresh perspectives. He highlighted the core themes of the narrative: "Delving into questions of survival and how split-second decisions can alter not just our lives, but the lives of others, are key to telling the story.”

Originally released for PlayStation 3 in 2013, Beyond: Two Souls, directed and written by David Cage, follows Jodie Holmes, a young woman with psychic abilities and her connection to a spirit named Aiden. The game, known for its non-linear storytelling and star-studded cast including Page and Willem Dafoe, later saw releases on PlayStation 4 (2015) and PC (2019).

David Cage confirmed his collaboration with Page on the television adaptation, although the specifics of his involvement remain unclear. He expressed his excitement about the project, stating, “We are absolutely thrilled to collaborate again with Elliot Page on this project… Beyond: Two Souls is a very special game for millions of players around the world who were moved by the story of Jodie and Aiden, and their journey in life and beyond. I know that Elliot has all the talent and instinct to make it something really unique on TV.”
