Squid Game: Unleashed is celebrating Season 2 with a wave of new content! Get ready for new characters, a fresh map, and exciting challenges. Plus, exclusive in-game rewards await those who watch the new episodes.
Netflix's surprising holiday release of Squid Game: Unleashed – a free-to-play battle royale game – was a bold move. Now, with Season 2 content, they're cleverly incentivizing both subscribers and non-subscribers to engage with the show.
What's in store for players? The January 3rd update introduces a map inspired by the Season 2 mini-game, "Mingle." New playable characters – Geum-Ja, Yong-Sik, and rapper Thanos – will also debut throughout January.
Geum-Ja and Thanos unlock via special in-game events on January 3rd and 9th respectively. Watching Squid Game Season 2 earns you in-game Cash and Wild Tokens; watching seven episodes unlocks the Binni Binge-Watcher outfit!
Here's the January content schedule:
- January 3rd: New "Mingle" map and Geum-Ja character. The "Dalgona Mash Up Collection Event" (until January 9th) challenges players to complete Mingle mini-games and collect Dalgona tins.
- January 9th: Thanos arrives with his "Thanos’ Red Light Challenge" event (until January 14th). Eliminate players using knives to unlock him.
- January 16th: Yong-Sik joins the game as the final new character in this update.
Squid Game: Unleashed could be a game-changer for Netflix's gaming ambitions. Offering free access and rewarding viewers is a smart strategy to boost both the game and the show's popularity.
