A former Respawn Entertainment employee revealed on their LinkedIn profile that an unannounced project has been canceled after several years in development. No official reason for the cancellation has been given.
Last year, journalist Jeff Grubb reported that the project wasn't a mainline Titanfall entry, ruling out Titanfall 3. Respawn assembled a dedicated "experimental team" of multiplayer shooter specialists for its creation.
This isn't the first Respawn project to be canceled. An arcade shooter codenamed Titanfall Legends was also scrapped last year.
The Titanfall series is renowned for its unique blend of fast-paced action and mech combat, allowing players to battle as pilots or control powerful Titans. Since its 2014 debut, the franchise has garnered a significant following for its innovative gameplay, seamlessly merging parkour with intense team-based battles.
Respawn is currently concentrating on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the third installment in the Jedi series, and a new, unannounced strategy game set in the Star Wars universe, developed in partnership with Bit Reactor.
