Electronic Arts has confirmed a pre-April 2026 release window for the next Battlefield game, according to their recent financial report. While industry journalist Tom Henderson speculates, based on EA's historical release patterns, that an October or November 2025 launch is more likely, EA itself hasn't offered a more precise date.
Development is underway across four of EA's internal studios, with significant playtesting planned. A closed beta program is already underway, allowing participants to provide valuable feedback on core gameplay elements, shaping the final product before launch.
This announcement also clarifies the near-term future of the Need for Speed franchise. Vince Zampella previously indicated that a new NFS title isn't expected anytime soon, as the upcoming Battlefield game is currently the company's top priority.
