People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and a co-developer of the highly anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has recently inked a deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment to bring a new game to life, codenamed Project Delta. According to a report from People Can Fly, Project Delta is set to be developed as a work-for-hire game, though specifics about the project remain under wraps.
The studio is bustling with activity, juggling multiple projects under various codenames. Among them are Project Gemini, a collaboration with Square Enix that faced setbacks with 30 developers being laid off last year; Project Echo, developed in partnership with Krafton; Project Red, another project likely linked with Sony; and the recently announced final VR endeavor, Project Bison.
In a series of adjustments to their project lineup, People Can Fly suspended work on Project Victoria last December and scaled down Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, the studio had to cancel Project Dagger, an action-adventure game that was being developed in partnership with Take-Two Interactive.
Despite these changes, People Can Fly remains committed to an impressive slate of eight known projects, including the eagerly awaited Gears of War: E-Day, developed in collaboration with The Coalition. While a release date for Gears of War: E-Day has not been disclosed, Project Gemini, the game developed with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
