The Realmgate is a pivotal feature in the endgame of Path of Exile 2. Unlike typical map nodes, accessing the Realmgate does not require Waystones but a different set of items. This guide will help you locate the Realmgate, understand how to use it effectively, and prepare for what lies beyond. Proper preparation is key to maximizing your experience and avoiding wasted opportunities.
How to Find the Realmgate in PoE 2
To locate the Realmgate, head directly to the starting point of the mapping phase. The easiest way to return here is by clicking the floating home icon on the mapping screen, which refocuses the view to the beginning of the mapping phase. The Realmgate is positioned right next to the stone Ziggurat.
At times, the home icon might overlap with the red skull icon, signaling the Burning Monolith's location. These two points are generally in close proximity, so clicking one will help you find the other.
How to Use the Realmgate in PoE 2
Unlike regular map nodes, Waystones are ineffective with the Realmgate. Its primary function is to facilitate access to the endgame Pinnacle boss fights. There are four such battles in the game, each accessible via the Realmgate. Here's how to reach them:
Xesht, We That Are One (Breach Pinnacle Boss): Collect and combine 300
Breach Splinters to create a Breachstone. Use this Breachstone at the Realmgate to engage in the Xesht boss fight.
Olroth, Origin of the Fall (Expeditions Pinnacle Boss): Obtain a Level 79 or higher Logbook from Expeditions. Talk to Dannig in your Hideout to use it. Dannig becomes available after a random encounter during Expedition maps and then resides permanently in your Hideout.
The Simulacrum (Delirium Pinnacle Event): Gather 300
Simulacrum Splinters to form The Simulacrum. Use it at the Realmgate to enter a map featuring 15 waves of Delirium enemies, ideal for mapping setups.
King in the Mists (Ritual Pinnacle Boss): Acquire An Audience With the King item through the Ritual Favour system by spending Tribute. Utilize it at the Realmgate to access this boss fight.
Note that the Trialmaster and Zarokh, the Temporal, encountered at the end of the Trial of Chaos and Trial of Sekhemas respectively, are not part of the Realmgate system.
The ultimate endgame boss, The Arbiter of Ash, is found exclusively in the Burning Monolith, not via the Realmgate. Accessing this fight requires three Citadel keys, which you can obtain through a quest unlocked upon your first encounter with the Burning Monolith.
