Oblivion Reborn: Redesigned Gameplay Unveiled

A purported remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, developed by Virtuos Studio using Unreal Engine 5, has been detailed by MP1st. The information, reportedly sourced from an anonymous developer's portfolio, suggests a significant departure from the original. This isn't a simple remaster, but a complete reimagining.

The anonymous portfolio showcases a comprehensive overhaul. Game mechanics, including stamina management, stealth, blocking, archery, damage feedback, and the user interface, are slated for significant upgrades. Blocking, for instance, will reportedly take inspiration from Soulslike games, addressing criticisms of the original's system. The damage system will feature noticeable impact reactions, and stamina is expected to be more intuitive. The UI and archery mechanics will also be modernized.

MP1st speculates that the project, initially planned as a remaster (as hinted at in leaked Microsoft documents), evolved into a full remake. While sources confirmed the remake won't appear at the upcoming Developer_Direct, rumors suggest a possible release within the year.
