Nintendo has exciting news for fans with a Nintendo Direct focused exclusively on the Nintendo Switch, set to air tomorrow at 7am PT on March 27. This 30-minute presentation will showcase a variety of upcoming games tailored for the beloved console. Importantly, Nintendo has confirmed that this Direct will not include any updates on the much-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2, which will be the focus of a separate event scheduled for 6am PT on April 2.

Here's the announcement from Nintendo of America:

Tune in tomorrow, March 27th, at 7 a.m. PT for a livestreamed #NintendoDirect, featuring around 30 minutes of upcoming games for Nintendo Switch. There will be no updates about Nintendo Switch 2 during this presentation.

So, what can fans look forward to in this Nintendo Direct? Despite the buzz around the upcoming Switch 2, Nintendo still has a robust lineup of games planned for the original Switch. With an astounding 150.86 million units sold, the Switch has a massive audience that game developers and publishers, including Nintendo, are keen to engage. Even as the company prepares to launch its next-generation console, there's still plenty of life left in the current one.

Among the titles to watch for are Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Professor Layton and the New World of Steam, both slated for release in 2025 on the Switch. Pokemon Legends: Z-A is also expected to hit the Switch sometime this year. Additionally, Hollow Knight: Silksong, announced six years ago, is confirmed to launch on Windows, Mac, Linux, and the Nintendo Switch. Given the Switch 2's backward compatibility, these games are expected to be playable on both the original Switch and its successor.

This week's Nintendo Direct could serve as a grand finale for the Switch, eight years after its launch, by highlighting Nintendo's final slate of exclusive titles before transitioning to the Switch 2. However, Nintendo might have a few surprises in store for fans, making this an event not to be missed.
