NieR: Automata's opening throws players into 2B's mission. After deploying your flight unit and engaging in melee combat, you'll acquire a one-handed and a two-handed sword.
The two-handed sword, the Virtuous Treaty, is a powerful weapon temporarily lost after the prologue. However, it's quickly recoverable once free-roaming is unlocked in the subsequent chapter.
Where To Find the Virtuous Treaty in NieR: Automata
This early-game weapon is easily accessible near your initial spawn point after exiting the bunker. Upon landing in the city ruins, descend to the lower area. Locate the highway to the left of the nearest access point. Proceed towards the highway, utilizing the ruins to climb onto the road. This path leads back towards the factory.
Descend into the factory and follow the grassy path to the main structure. An access point and stairs leading upwards are located on the left. At the top, look left towards the destroyed bridge (where you fought the Goliath). The Virtuous Treaty is embedded in the ground at the bridge's edge.
Your discarded equipment from the prologue, containing consumables, is located just to the right of the sword.
Virtuous Treaty Stats in NieR: Automata
- Attack: 300-330
- Combo: Light 2, Heavy 2
This two-handed sword, typical of its type, delivers wide-sweeping attacks, dealing significant damage to multiple enemies. Its attack speed is notably slow. Upgrades can potentially make it one of the game's highest-damage weapons, provided you adapt to its slower pace. Combining it with a faster weapon via a heavy attack during a combo mitigates its slow speed while still leveraging its high damage output, though a full combo won't be achieved.
