Marvel Rivals Season 1: A New York City Nightmare
Marvel Rivals Season 1 continues to expand its offerings with a wave of new maps, all themed around a nightmarish, Dracula-infused New York City, dubbed "Empire of Eternal Night." In addition to new heroes and cosmetics, these maps significantly enhance the gameplay experience. Let's explore each one:
Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown
Launching alongside Season 1, Midtown is a Convoy map, perfect for the game's payload-style mode. Players either escort or defend a moving vehicle across this dark, gothic interpretation of Midtown Manhattan. Key locations include the Baxter Building, Grand Central Terminal, Stark/Avengers Tower, Fisk Tower, Ardmore's Bookstore, and Timely Trend – all rendered under Dracula's ominous Blood Moon. Midtown joins Yggsgard: Yggdrasill Path and Tokyo 2099: Spider-Islands as a Convoy map option.
Empire of Eternal Night: The Mystical Sanctum Santorum
This unique map, a dark and atmospheric version of Doctor Strange's Sanctum Santorum, is home to the game's Doom Match mode. This free-for-all deathmatch pits players against each other for survival and leaderboard glory. The map itself is a stunning recreation of Strange's mystical headquarters, complete with hidden secrets, impossible architecture, portals, and even a cameo from Bats the Ghost Dog.
Empire of Eternal Night: Central Park
Expected to arrive later in Season 1, Central Park offers a sinister twist on the iconic New York landmark. Centered around a stylized Belvedere Castle, this map will likely serve as a key location within Dracula's New York City domain. The castle's Gothic architecture provides a fitting backdrop for the "Empire of Eternal Night" theme.
These are all the confirmed new maps for Marvel Rivals Season 1, promising a thrilling and visually captivating experience for players.
