Neowiz and Gamfs N have unleashed the first content update for BrownDust2 since its December 1.5-year anniversary celebration. Dubbed "Onsen Training," this update brings a fiery new adventure to the game.
This Japanese winter hot spring setting features sword-fighting battles and characteristic BrownDust2 challenges, with a dash of mischievous monkey mayhem thrown in for good measure.
BrownDust2's Onsen Training: A Deep Dive
The update introduces three new characters: Ventana (the story's protagonist and available via pickup draw), Liberta (also available via pickup draw), and Blade (exclusive to the event narrative).
The Onsen Training event story unfolds within the same universe as Character Pack 1: Jayden's Gate, offering 30 battles across 15 normal and 15 challenge modes.
Ventana, the Kendo Club captain, seeks to regain her honor after a defeat. Her hot spring training for enhanced strength takes an unexpected turn with the appearance of playful Snowy Mountain Monkeys. Rescued by the legendary Blade, who initially refuses her training request, Ventana’s hope is rekindled by Liberta, the hot spring manager, who promises to help her win Blade's tutelage.
A New Mini-Game Joins the Fun
"Onsen Tile Tactics," a time-limited tile-clearing mini-game, adds another layer of excitement. The event story unfolds in phases: "Legendary Graduate" (week one), culminating in "Beyond Legend" (week three).
Players will face returning and new bosses, including the returning Giant Rou, and the week three boss, the formidable Snowy Mountain Tyrant (a colossal monkey whose strength increases when targeting enemies with DoT effects). A brand-new Guild Raid boss, Rucersingha, the Ruler of the Void, also makes its debut, posing a significant challenge with devastating attacks and a high chain stack requirement.
New gear and costumes are also up for grabs. The Onsen Practitioner Ventana costume is available until January 30th, followed by the Onsen Manager Liberta costume, available until February 13th.
