Netflix Unveils Devil May Cry Anime's Opening Trailer, Featuring Limp Bizkit
Following the announcement of the Devil May Cry anime's premiere date, Netflix dropped the series' exciting opening trailer. Set to Limp Bizkit's iconic "Rollin'," the trailer showcases dynamic action sequences featuring a young Dante, Lady, and the White Rabbit, peppered with nods to the game franchise.
Showrunner Adi Shankar elaborated on his vision for the anime's future. The series, set in the late 90s and early 2000s, will feature a soundtrack reflecting that era's musical landscape. Beyond Limp Bizkit, expect other period-defining tracks, along with a synthwave reimagining of the game's soundtrack by Power Glove.
Shankar hinted at the anime's long-term prospects, stating that future seasons will boast distinct visual styles and soundtracks to mirror the diverse nature of the Devil May Cry games. This subtly confirms the anime's planned continuation beyond a single season.
Plot specifics remain under wraps. However, the first season is anticipated to adapt elements from the Code 1: Dante manga (based on Devil May Cry 3), focusing on a young Dante's investigation into a child's disappearance. This investigation will inevitably confront Dante with his past, family, and the legacy of his demonic father, Sparda.
The eight-episode first season premieres on April 3, 2025.
