No Man's Sky: A Comprehensive Guide to Obtaining Solanium
Solanium, a crucial resource in No Man's Sky, is exclusively found on planets with extreme heat. This guide details how to locate, farm, and craft this valuable material.
Locating Solanium
Unlike Frost Crystals, Solanium thrives on arid, scorching planets. Before landing, utilize your starship scanner to identify planets with climates like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched." The scanner will also indicate Solanium as a harvestable resource.
Once landed, employ your Analysis Visor to pinpoint Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with luminous vines. These are abundant in specific locations. Remember, you'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. While there, consider collecting Phosphorus deposits, a key ingredient for Solanium crafting.
Farming Solanium
After progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, establish a hydroponic farm. Plant Solar Vines using 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus in Hydroponic Trays or Bio-Domes. On hot planets, direct ground planting is also feasible.
Harvesting takes roughly 16 real-time hours.
Crafting Solanium
Several Refiner recipes produce Solanium, primarily using Phosphorus (often sourced from hot planets). Alternatively, purchase Phosphorus from traders or Galactic Trade Terminals. Here are the Solanium crafting recipes:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (to create more Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note: Most recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. To ensure a consistent Sulphurine supply, consider establishing a Phosphorus farm at your base.
