Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP Slashes Sales Goals

Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's Resurgence: Over 200,000 Copies Sold!

Released late last year, the Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP remaster has reportedly surpassed 200,000 units sold, defying initial technical hurdles and controversy. This sales milestone demonstrates significant player demand for the action-packed title.

Developed originally by Grasshopper Manufacture (No More Heroes series), Lollipop Chainsaw's remaster was handled by Dragami Games. While the original developers weren't involved, Dragami Games delivered a visually enhanced experience with improved gameplay features.

The game's success, announced via a Dragami Games tweet, spans current and last-gen consoles, as well as PC. This achievement comes several months after the September 2024 launch.

Celebrating Success: Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's Sales Triumph

Lollipop Chainsaw casts players as Juliet Starling, a cheerleader battling a zombie horde at her high school. Employing chainsaw combat reminiscent of Bayonetta, players face waves of zombies and unique bosses.

The original 2012 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 achieved even greater success, selling over one million copies. This initial popularity may be attributed to the unique collaboration between Goichi Suda and James Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy).

While future DLC or a sequel remains unannounced, Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP's strong sales suggest a promising future for remasters of less mainstream titles. This positive trend is further supported by the recent release of Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered, another Grasshopper Manufacture title updated for modern platforms.
