The return of the classic Call of Duty Prestige system in Black Ops 6 has made XP grinding more popular than ever. Players familiar with recent CoD titles like Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone can leverage existing resources to accelerate their progress. This guide explains how to utilize Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6.

Understanding Legacy XP Tokens in Black Ops 6

image of legacy XP tokensFollowing the Season 01 update to Black Ops 6 and Warzone, many players discovered a surplus of previously unseen XP tokens within Black Ops 6. This allowed for efficient XP, Weapon XP, and Battle Pass progression. However, a November 15th update addressed this, disabling the direct activation of these tokens within the Black Ops 6 interface, as noted in the Call of Duty Blog.

These Legacy XP Tokens are unused XP tokens carried over from previous CoD titles accessible through the COD HQ app, such as Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, or Warzone. These tokens were earned through various methods in those games, including DMZ missions, Battle Pass tiers, and promotions with partners like Little Caesar's and Monster Energy. While no longer directly usable in Black Ops 6, they remain active in Warzone.

Utilizing Warzone XP Tokens in Black Ops 6

Initially, players could activate their Legacy XP Tokens from Warzone directly within Black Ops 6. This functionality is temporarily unavailable. However, a workaround existed: activate the tokens in Warzone; then, the active token and its timer would appear in the Black Ops 6 UI. This method, while requiring switching between games and featuring a real-time countdown, provided a significant XP boost.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone are currently available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
