Netflix is bringing the beloved video game series Devil May Cry to life with a thrilling new anime adaptation, and fans got their first glimpse through an exciting trailer released by the streaming giant. Adding to the anticipation, the legendary late voice actor Kevin Conroy will posthumously star in this highly anticipated game adaptation.
Conroy, celebrated for his iconic portrayal of Bruce Wayne and Batman in numerous animated films and TV series, lends his voice to the new character VP Baines. His voice can be heard at the beginning of the trailer, adding a layer of gravitas to the series.
Conroy's posthumous performance was previously acclaimed in *Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths: Part 3* in July 2024, and it's heartening that fans will have another opportunity to experience his remarkable talent following his passing in November 2022 at the age of 66. Joining him in the cast are Scout Taylor-Compton as Mary, Hoon Lee as White Rabbit, Chris Coppola as Enzo, and Johnny Yong Bosch, who voices the central character, Dante.According to Netflix's official synopsis, “Sinister forces are at play to open the portal between the human and demon realms. In the middle of it all is Dante, an orphaned demon-hunter-for-hire, unaware that the fate of both worlds hangs around his neck.”
Studio Mir, the esteemed South Korean studio behind hits like The Legend of Korra and X-Men ‘97, will handle the production of this new series. Devil May Cry is slated to premiere on Netflix on April 3, 2025.
