Insomniac Games Pitched Resistance 4, But Never Got It Approved

Insomniac Games almost gave us Resistance 4. While a pitch was made and the concept was strong, according to outgoing president Ted Price, timing and market opportunities ultimately prevented the game from getting the green light. In a recent interview with Kinda Funny Games, Price revealed this unmade sequel as a personal favorite among his pitched projects, highlighting the team's passion for continuing the Resistance storyline. He believes the series' alternate history setting, with its Chimera alien invaders, offered fertile ground for further exploration of their origins and future conflicts.

The Resistance series, a trilogy of first-person shooters developed by Insomniac for the PlayStation 3, depicts an alternate 1951 where aliens invade the UK. Following the success of the Ratchet & Clank games, Insomniac shifted focus to other projects, including the highly successful Marvel's Spider-Man series and new Ratchet & Clank titles.

Price's recent retirement announcement after over three decades at Insomniac Games paved the way for Chad Dezern, Ryan Schneider, and Jen Huang to take the reins as Co-Studio Heads. Insomniac's latest release, Marvel's Spider-Man 2, recently launched on PC, and Marvel's Wolverine is next on the horizon.
