Indus picks up five million downloads and concludes first international playtest in Manila

Authore: JackUpdate:Apr 17,2025

Just two months post-launch, the made-in-India battle royale game, Indus, has impressively amassed over five million downloads on Android and more than 100,000 on iOS. This milestone follows its triumph at the Google Play Awards, where it clinched the Best Made in India Game 2024, and the successful wrap-up of its inaugural international playtest in Manila.

Indus's rapid rise is a testament to SuperGaming's vision to position this shooter as the vanguard of Indian gaming, outshining rivals like FAU-G: Domination. The game's exposure at the YGG Play Summit in Manila allowed local esports stars to engage with the battle royale, further cementing its international appeal.

In addition to these achievements, SuperGaming has unveiled the Clutch India Movement, a significant step into the esports arena, kickstarted by the Indus International Tournament. Running since October and set to conclude in February 2025, this tournament boasts a hefty prize pool of INR 2.5 crores (approximately $31k), showcasing SuperGaming's commitment to nurturing the esports ecosystem in India.

Indus Battle Royale GameplayBig milestone, but more to comeWhile the five million downloads are impressive, they fall short of the ten million pre-registrations initially recorded. It's worth noting that pre-registration figures often don't fully convert to actual downloads. The relatively modest 100,000 downloads on iOS suggest that Indus has yet to fully penetrate this segment of the Indian gaming market.

Nevertheless, SuperGaming's swift progression into international playtests, the launch of an esports tournament, and other initiatives underscore their grand vision for Indus's future.
