Bright Blood is the most abundant resource in Hyper Light Breaker, obtainable by defeating enemies, destroying objects, and opening crates within the Overgrowth. You can also gain additional Bright Blood by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.
This versatile resource can be used in several ways:
- To loot Blades and Rails from defeated enemies in the Overgrowth.
- To unlock Stashes and other crates scattered throughout the Overgrowth.
- To purchase new gear from vendors located in the Overgrowth and Hub.
- To upgrade your existing gear at vendors in the Hub.
How to Get & Use Gold Ration in Hyper Light Breaker
Gold Rations are earned by completing Cycles. In the game's early stages, expect to complete your Cycles by exhausting all four of your Rezes. After using up your Rezes, find an NPC at the Telepad in the Hub who will request materials to reset the Overgrowth, aiding your progress toward earning Gold Rations.
Gold Rations are crucial for meta-progression. They can be used to unlock permanent upgrades through Pherus Bit in the Hub and to unlock new services from vendors in the Hub.
How to Get & Use Abyss Stone in Hyper Light Breaker
Abyss Stones are earned by defeating Crowns, challenging bosses found behind gates in the Overgrowth. You'll need to collect Prism before engaging these bosses, with Prism locations marked by yellow diamonds on the in-game map.
Like Gold Rations, Abyss Stones contribute to meta-progression. Use them to upgrade your Sycom's stats and unlock new characters during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, giving you an edge in future runs.
How to Get & Use Key in Hyper Light Breaker
Keys can occasionally be found in small containers within the Overgrowth, though these caches are not typically marked on the map, making them a bit elusive.
Keys are essential for bypassing barriers that block access to valuable Stashes and other containers in the Overgrowth. They also grant entry to Labs, underground areas filled with enemies and collectibles.
How to Get & Use MediGem in Hyper Light Breaker
MediGems are a critical resource, obtained by interacting with glowing flowers in the Overgrowth. They are exchanged for Medkits at the Hub's Telepad and at Shrines within the Overgrowth, significantly boosting your survivability.
Before using MediGems, you must expand your Medkit capacity to one. Visit Pherus Bit in the Hub and spend one Gold Ration to unlock the Medkit Capacity node.

Cores are another meta-progression resource, found in Stashes marked by chest icons on the map. You can also assemble Cores by combining four Core Shards, which are dropped by enemies that yield Prisms (marked by yellow diamonds) and from unmarked objects like bone piles in the Overgrowth.
Use Cores to upgrade your Sycom during loadout confirmation before entering the Overgrowth, enhancing your Breaker's stats for better performance.
How to Get & Use Material in Hyper Light Breaker
Materials are primarily obtained by using Bright Blood to open small chests in the Overgrowth, often marked by gems on the map. You can also acquire additional Materials by selling gear to vendors in the Hub.
Materials are used to purchase gear from vendors in both the Hub and the Overgrowth, similar to Bright Blood but with more specific applications.
